At William Morris Sixth Form, subjects within the Performing Arts Curriculum Area are taught by specialist teachers in Dance and Drama.

The department offers a range of courses from GCSE Performing Arts to A Level Drama.  The ethos of the department is to work at professional standards in all areas of the performing arts.  Students are treated as young adults who we encourage and challenge to achieve within courses.

Performing Arts at William Morris Sixth Form covers a range of styles and techniques including; drama improvisation, Butoh (Japanese Dance Form), physical theatre, release dance technique, and dance improvisation.   All of the work within the department is inspired by current professional practice in the dance and theatre world.  The courses are taught using university models to prepare students for life in Higher Education.

The Performing Arts facilities comprise two purpose-built studios. Studio 1 is equipped with a 60amp lighting rig, portable staging and a sprung floor. Studio 2 has changing rooms, a sprung wooden floor and is equipped with full length mirrors.
