School Travel Plan
What is a school travel plan (STP) ?
The William Morris school travel plan (STP) is a document produced by the Sixth Form in conjunction with the Local Authority. The aim of our travel plan is to encourage sustainable travel methods for our students and staff, making it possible to walk, cycle and use public transport safely and independently, and to reduce the road danger around the school site.
As a consequence of identifying the problems and issues affecting the school, we adopted the following objectives:-
- To promote and encourage sustainable travel and widen choices for our students, making it possible to walk, cycle or use public transport to school safely and independently.
- To promote the opportunity for exercise by encouraging more journeys by foot and bicycle, and therefore improve the health and fitness of our school community.
- To reduce traffic congestion, vehicle pollution and road danger around the school.
- To improve the safety of our students and staff whilst travelling to and from school.
