Central to our educational philosophy is a view of learning as a rich experience which extends well beyond the bounds of the classroom and the years spent at school, college and university. We hope that students will participate in activities which will help them lead a fulfilling life, keep healthy and fit and develop a sense of responsibility as a citizen.
We start from interests students express and aim to meet them by offering a range of enrichment activities. In the past these have included various sports, dance and aerobics, martial arts, performing arts, photography, video, our student magazine, film club, Duke of Edinburgh Award, helping at a local primary school, visits to theatres, concerts, opera and ballet, days out to Alton Towers, a skiing trip and trips to European cities.
We have a link with a school in Uganda which students support through fund-raising activities and joint curriculum projects. Our first visit to the school took place in April 2007.
Within our weekly tutorial programme we encourage discussion of issues relevant to young people and invite outside speakers and experts to cover topics like fitness and health, stress management, sex and drugs education, and citizenship, as well as support for study and career planning.
We use our partnership with other state and independent school sixth forms in the borough to extend opportunities for developing debating and presenting skills and to improve our students’ chances of obtaining university places. This includes a prestigious annual conference in Hammersmith Town Hall with a host of invited speakers leading interactive workshops.
Here are a few examples of the activities students do:

A very popular workshop when run last year. Excellent exercise for getting those tums in trim, enjoyable and great fun while learning the skills of an ancient traditional art form.
